Description:  Here is the second of three successive original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken at the Ivy City Yard in Washington, D.C., c. 1953. At the left is Baltimore & Ohio Railroad engine #5218, a P-5 (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during June of 1919 and retired in October of 1956 after 37 years of faithful service. Partially visible at the right are three Pennsylvania Railroad GG-1 electrics and three GM-EMD "E" Class diesels, all awaiting their next assignments.
